Watford vs Liverpool preview | 20:00 | Vicarage Road

Going into this game, stats say that Watford are going to face an uphill battle, but that is not as it may seem.  Liverpool have a massive weakness beating teams in the bottom half of the table, as all six of their losses this season come against bottom-half teams.

The head-to-head history of Watford vs Liverpool is one sided, with Liverpool winning 5/6 ties – with Watford’s last win coming ten years ago. The reverse fixture of this tie ended in Liverpool hammering Watford 6-1 at Anfield, with that result sending Liverpool top of the Premier League.

Liverpool also go into the game with better form, as The Reds have collected 11 points from a possible 18, compared to Watford’s 9.

Watford may look to expose Liverpool’s defensive weakness – set pieces. 30% of Watford’s goals come from set pieces and 29% of Liverpool’s goals conceded are from set-pieces, meaning if The Hornets want to win today, that could be the key.

Liverpool’s weakness to kill off the lower teams this season has been their Achilles heel. A disappointing January has thrown away Liverpool’s chance of becoming Premier League Champions and is now fighting for Champions League qualification – which they need to secure their top transfer targets.

Champions League qualification is why Liverpool so desperately need to take all three points, as if all games in hand the rest of the top 7 have, win, Liverpool could drop to 6th depending on Arsenal’s goal difference.

Watford have no injury worries, whereas Liverpool are without skipper Jordan Henderson. Good news for The Reds though, as Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge have been back in full training this week – meaning they are in contention for a starting position.

Match Fact:

Liverpool will be looking to win three successive Premier League away games under Jurgen Klopp for only the second time, with the previous occasion coming in October 2016.

PREDITCION: Watford 1 – 3 Liverpool.
